My earliest childhood memories consisted of my love of dolls. I have always had quite an active imagination and would have many "pretend" encounters with them.
My grandmother was an extremely accomplished seamstress so I think I inherited my passion and talent for sewing from her. I don't remember a time with I haven't had a needle in my fingers. Always cutting and sewing scraps of whatever I could get my hands on to make clothes for my dolls.
By age eleven or so, I was making doll clothes for other people, most for the children of friends and family. This eventually became something I did not for just the fun of it but to sell.
Over the years I developed quite a reputation as "the Doll Clothes Lady." I was able to make doll clothes for any size, style or age of dolls.
There are so many different aspects to this subject and my experiences with making doll clothes spans over the last 55+ years. As much as I enjoy writing, dolls and making their clothes has always been, and still is, my greatest love.
